Start with the Cold Rain and Snow and the Fire on the Mountain from 7/4/86 Buffalo

I will also add the Fire on the Montain from 5/15/81 Rutgers

There was a new version HCS that followed a rain storm, no?

Ok well I'm a bit buzzed tonight but I think a few on this board will agree that the 2nd night of 92 in L.V. was the most profound of shows in this case. Check out the reviews : the lightning the scattered rain and thunder and rainbows forming on all sides then at the most profound moment the sun ripps through the clouds and shines down on he stadium with rainbows in the background and with the sunbeam only in the stadium made it the most intense surrounding while we dripped marshmallows from the sky. It was a thing of beauty and the band kept playin on.

That's funny. I didn't realize it was a day in history selection.

Thanks for that

Yea but that was only if you were traveling from the north from the Denver shows which most of us were. Don't recall it happening during the show but those shows are kinda blurry in actual recollection. Cheers

I have to agree on this one. It was mighty hot that day @ Three Rivers Stadium in Pitt. By the time 1st set was over clouds had moved in & the sky had started spitting on us. Then, just before they came out on stage it started raining a little. Then, as the band broke into the first part of the Beatles "Rain"---"RRAAIINN...I don't mind" it started POURING rain down on the crowd. Needless to say the crowd went NUTS over just how hard it was raining, and how it would rain harder with each mention of rain---I've been at other shows where they made it rain, like Buckeye Lake in '93s opening with "RAIN"---but never did it seem so magical as it did that night in Pittsburgh. Box of Rain, Samba & LLR all made it just that much more ethereal & cosmically significant.

This was to be my last show, little did I know, and in hindsight it was as karmic, magical, and brain searing a show as I've ever been to. Even at shows where psychedelics were either misfiring, or hitting with mind-blowing accurateness the various synapses in my brain, never had a show come together just exactly perfect. Going back a little to reiterate the alignment of the planets, here's a link to the show & make sure you read my "review" of it & you'll see just how much more "together" the show came to for me.

It's been a while since I listened to it, and I seem to remember that the thunder isn't necessarily audible, but it sure couldn't have been timed more perfectly behind "the sun's gonna shine in my backdoor some day." Other big hits: "I'll call down thunder and speak the same;" "Who can the weather command?"

Amazing night.
